About This Challenge
In Skyline Adventures – ENJOY AI 2026, students explore the world of space exploration through robotics and autonomous drones.
Inspired by space missions, teams program drones to navigate a futuristic field filled with precision flying challenges, navigation gates, and creative problem-solving tasks.
This challenge combines engineering, coding, and strategic thinking in a high-tech competition environment designed to develop future-ready innovation skills.
What You Will Do
- Program an autonomous quadcopter drone
- Execute takeoff and precision flight missions
- Navigate through rings, gates, and flight paths
- Perform aerial maneuvers and scoring challenges
- Complete target-based actions such as knocking down objects
- Return safely to the drone base autonomously
How Scoring Works
Teams earn points by completing space-themed flight missions accurately and efficiently:
- Takeoff from base (40 points)
- Twin Rings navigation (50 points each)
- Infinity Gate maneuvers (40–80 points depending on difficulty)
- Circular route around marker pole (60 points)
- Heart Cross ring flight (70 points)
- Meteor knockdown (60 points)
- Return to base landing (40 points)
- Bonus spaceship rescue task (80 points)
- Extra reward for smooth runs and fewer retries
Final rankings are based on total accumulated points across all rounds.
Game Strategy
Success requires more than flying — it requires precision, planning, and control:
- Stable drone control and calibration
- Accurate autonomous programming
- Efficient flight path planning
- Strong sensor-based navigation
- Risk management for smooth completion of missions
Drone Requirements
- Quadcopter drone (80–120g total weight)
- Motor-to-motor distance: 125–130 mm
- Propeller length: 72–78 mm
- Battery: max 5V, max 1150 mAh
- Must use propeller guards
- Autonomous operation after takeoff (no phone/tablet control)
Competition Format
Each round lasts 180 seconds. Teams complete autonomous flight missions across a 3m × 3m space-themed field.
All rounds are scored equally, and final rankings are based on total points across all runs. Teams are ranked by score, then time, then number of retries.
Road to China
Top-performing teams from the Skyline Adventures competition may qualify for the international finals in China.
This initiative gives students from Curaçao and the Caribbean the opportunity to participate in global robotics and AI competitions.
