About This Challenge
In Drone Cup – ENJOY AI 2026, students enter a fast-paced drone soccer arena where teamwork, precision, and quick decision-making determine the winner.
Inspired by futuristic space battles, teams control multiple drones in real time to attack, defend, and score goals.
This challenge combines drone robotics, communication, and strategy in a high-energy competitive environment.
What You Will Do
- Control and pilot competition drones in real time
- Work as a team to attack and defend goals
- Navigate drones through a dynamic aerial field
- Score goals by flying through the opponent’s ring
- Switch strategies between offense and defense
- Use backup drones when needed during matches
How Scoring Works
Teams earn points by scoring goals during the match:
- 1 point for each successful goal (drone fully passes through opponent’s goal ring)
- Own goal results in a point for the opposing team
- Penalty shootout determines winner in knockout rounds if tied
The team with the highest number of goals at the end of the match wins.
Game Strategy
Winning requires coordination and fast decision-making:
- Coordinate attacks and defensive positioning
- Communicate effectively between team members
- Control drone speed and stability under pressure
- Adapt quickly to opponent strategies
- Use substitutions and positioning wisely
Drone Requirements
- Quadcopter drone (approx. 125 × 125 × 105 mm)
- Maximum weight: 42 g (including battery)
- Coreless motors with 42 mm propellers
- Battery: max 5V, max 600 mAh
- Must include RGB lights for team identification
- Propeller guards required for safety
Competition Format
Each match lasts 4 minutes, divided into two halves with a short break.
The competition includes:
- Preliminary round (group stage, round-robin)
- Knockout stage (elimination rounds)
Teams are ranked based on wins, goals scored, and progression through the tournament.
Road to China
Top teams may qualify for the ENJOY AI international finals in China.
This provides students the opportunity to compete globally in advanced drone robotics competitions.
